GaN Test Engineer

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Support development, validation, qualification, and release of wafer sort, final test, characterization, and module test solutions for SiC and GaN products.
  • Develop and maintain test programs, test plans, specifications, limits, validation reports, and release documentation under senior engineering guidance.
  • Execute DC, AC, dynamic, parametric, high-voltage, high-current, and application-relevant device testing.
  • Support characterization across temperature, voltage, current, and operating conditions to confirm product performance and test coverage.
  • Design, debug, and validate test hardware such as probe cards, load boards, sockets, fixtures, and interface hardware.
  • Support qualification and troubleshooting of ATE, probers, handlers, instruments, and test hardware.
  • Perform test program correlation and transfer between internal laboratories, OSATs, and external test locations.
  • Analyze test and manufacturing data to identify yield loss, false failures, test escapes, equipment issues, and improvement opportunities.
  • Participate in root-cause analysis and corrective actions for test-related yield, quality, reliability, and manufacturing issues.
  • Support improvements in test coverage, repeatability, throughput, uptime, multisite efficiency, and cost of test.
  • Create scripts and automated tools for test execution, data collection, reporting, and engineering analysis.
  • Support new product introduction, qualification, Safe Launch, production ramp, and sustaining engineering activities.
  • Provide clear technical updates, document results, and complete assigned actions on schedule.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics (KSAOs)

  • Working knowledge of semiconductor device testing and electrical measurement fundamentals.
  • Hands-on experience with automated test equipment, laboratory instruments, wafer probing, final test, or test hardware.
  • Ability to analyze data, troubleshoot technical issues, and use structured problem-solving methods.
  • Basic understanding of semiconductor device behavior, test limits, measurement accuracy, and yield analysis.
  • Proficiency with data analysis and scripting tools such as Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, or equivalent tools.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work across global teams.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple technical assignments.
