As the Garage Services Senior Manager, you will assist dispatch in managing the activities of all related staff, ensuring exceptional customer service and the attainment of GLS’s performance targets. The Garage Services Senior Manager is accountable for ensuring all pre-production and specialty vehicles are thoroughly inspected, serviced, maintained, detailed, and prepared for Shows, Displays, Events, and photo shoots. As the Garage Services Director, you will plan, organize, lead, and control the flow of service work through the service department in a professional, timely manner while ensuring quality repairs.
Garage Services Senior Manager Responsibilities Include:
Ensure the GM customer interactions are satisfactory daily.
Lead and support your team in various positions of coordinators, technicians, porters, and detailers.
Ensure common, standardized processes established for service diagnosis and repairs are embraced and followed as needed.
Oversee the weekly dispatching of all technicians' and detailers' work.
Monitor and ensure the ongoing accuracy of the vehicle scheduling board.
Prepare a list of equipment, supplies, and repairs required and review specific needs for the team when needed.
Ensure that the technicians follow warranty material disposition procedures.
Coordinate parts requirements with the parts and materials department.
Ensure standardized processes established for vehicle detailing/prep are embraced and followed.
Oversee coordination of sublet work such as Body/Paint as needed.
Attend weekly and monthly GM and GLS meetings as needed.
Leadership Responsibilities Include:
Adhere to Suburban Automotive Service’s DRIVEN values and align business practices to support the SAS mission and vision.
Identify any gaps in processes and update procedures as required by system and/or process improvements.
Execute the interview/hiring process of all direct reports and support the process of indirect reports.
Complete goal setting, development plans, and annual reviews for reporting staff promptly.
Coach and train team members to understand duties, responsibilities, and performance with established expectations.
Ensure adherence to operating procedures, legal and compliance regulations, and IT Policies to minimize risk.
Promote a team member-driven culture including a focus on safety.
Create and maintain open communication with team members, peers, management, and other departments.
Garage Services Senior Manager Qualifications and Skills:
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Must have exceptional oral and written communication skills.
Must be customer service oriented.
Must have exceptional time management and multitasking skills.
Must be a self-starter.
Must be a reliable team player.
Knowledge of automotive safety programs.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook applications preferred.
