Gardener / Handyman (Part Time)

Parkville Tavern is seeking a permanent part-time Gardener / Handyman to help maintain the venue’s large historic grounds and outdoor spaces. This role is key to ensuring our beer garden remains a welcoming space for guests and the children’s playground stays safe and compliant.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain lawns, garden beds, and heritage grounds (mowing, edging, pruning, weeding, mulching)

• Conduct routine playground safety checks and maintain impact surfaces

• Keep outdoor areas clean and presentable for patrons

• Perform minor repairs and general maintenance (furniture, fences, gates, equipment)

• Maintain gardening tools and assist with venue upkeep tasks

• Support outdoor events when required

Requirements

• Minimum 12 months gardening or groundskeeping experience

• Ability to work independently and take pride in presentation

• Practical handyman skills highly desirable

• RSA or Approved Manager license advantageous but not essential
