Gardener (School)
Job Scope
• Basic maintenance of planted and potted plants, including those at the corridor planters, such as watering, pruning, fertilising, mulching, weeding, etc.
• Taking care of seedlings for transplanting into potted plants in the school premises.
• Carrying out plant transplanting as and when required for potted plants to be used indoor and outdoor.
• Monitoring the health of all potted plants.
• Troubleshooting and replacing batteries or minor components in automatic irrigation systems.
• Dealing with possible pest problems that could damage planted and potted plants and seedlings.
• Advise and support the planning and upkeep of the herb garden, fruit garden, and other thematic gardens to ensure plant suitability and sustainability.
• Maintain the school’s aquaponics system, including preparing grow beds, planting suitable crops, and monitoring plant growth.
• Undertake any other gardening related duties assigned by School Management.
Qualifications
• Candidate should preferably have relevant certificates in Horticulture, Landscape Maintenance, Urban Farming, or related fields in gardening.
Experience
• Preferably at least 3 years of gardening experience in growing flowers and herbs in commercial setting e.g. in offices, school.
• Gardening experience in a school environment would be an advantage.
Contract Period: From 17 August 2026 to 31 December 2026.
*Option to Extend: Extend the Contract for a further period of one year from Jan 2027 to Dec 2027
Work Timing:
• Monday to Thursday: 7:00am to 4.30 pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break
• Friday: 7:00am to 4:00pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break
• Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays
