GBS Industrial Engineering Supervisor
Location: Clark, Pampanga, Philippines
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced GBS Industrial Engineering Supervisor to lead facility management and industrial engineering initiatives across UPS GBS sites in the Philippines. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, efficient, and cost-effective facility operations while supporting business objectives through process improvement, engineering solutions, and operational excellence initiatives.
The successful candidate will oversee facility and administrative services, regulatory compliance, vendor and contract management, procurement activities, and business continuity programs. This position requires a collaborative leader with strong expertise in facilities management, project management, compliance, cost control, and stakeholder engagement, with the ability to drive operational improvements and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
Manage end-to-end project lifecycles including planning, design, execution, deployment, and closure.
Develop project schedules, milestones, budgets, and resource plans.
Coordinate with stakeholders to obtain approvals, secure resources, and manage project impacts.
Lead communication and change management activities related to project implementation.
Balance multiple projects while ensuring timely and successful delivery.
Facility and Administrative Management
Manage employee concerns related to facilities, transportation, and workplace services.
Maintain positive relationships with landlords, regulatory authorities, and service providers.
Supervise facility maintenance, housekeeping, and asset protection activities.
Ensure proper operation and maintenance of building systems, including BMS, electrical, mechanical, fire protection, water systems, and security systems.
Monitor facility appearance and operational efficiency while controlling costs.
Conduct annual Facility Asset Protection Assessments (FAPA) and plan improvement initiatives.
Safety, Environmental & Regulatory Compliance
Ensure compliance with UPS safety standards and local regulatory requirements.
Lead facility safety audits, inspections, and corrective action programs.
Maintain environmental permits and regulatory documentation.
Coordinate submissions and reports required by local government agencies and regulatory bodies.
Support contractor safety compliance and risk mitigation initiatives.
Industrial Engineering & Continuous Improvement
Maintain and update Master Operating Procedures (MOPs).
Support continuous improvement initiatives
Conduct operational studies and process analyses.
Analyze operational data and recommend productivity improvements.
Vendor & Contract Management
Manage contractor and vendor performance, contracts, negotiations, and renewals.
Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
Lead supplier selection, vendor registration, and performance review processes.
Drive cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing and negotiation.
Manage local procurement requirements and vendor relationships.
Budget & Financial Management
Monitor expenditures, evaluate financial performance, and control costs.
Prepare Requests for Appropriation (RFA) documentation and capital expenditure justifications.
Process invoices and maintain financial records in accordance with company requirements.
Business Continuity Planning (BCP)
Support business continuity initiatives and workplace readiness activities.
Manage asset tracking and deployment support.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure operational continuity during disruptions.
Ensure workplace safety readiness and emergency preparedness.
Leadership & Team Development
Supervise and develop team members through coaching, training, and performance management.
Identify development opportunities and create training plans.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience & Skills
Experience in facility management, project management, industrial engineering, or a related area.
Knowledge of facility operations, vendor management, budgeting, and compliance requirements.
Experience in process improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
Technical Proficiency
Proficient in Microsoft Office and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams).
Familiarity with project management and data analysis tools.
Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and financial management.
Leadership Competencies
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and work in a fast-paced environment.
