GCP Cloud DevOps Engineer

Summary

Build and maintain HSBC’s GCP foundation using IaC (Terraform), CI/CD pipelines, and SDN while ensuring security and compliance for global application deployments.

For the project that we are working on with our partner, we are looking for GCP Cloud DevOps Engineer.

Your duties will include:

  • Build and manage the HSBC GCP foundation platform to enable application deployments
  • Engineer solutions on GCP foundation platform using Infrastructure As Code methods (e.g. Terraform)
  • Integrate, configure, deploy and manage centrally provided common cloud services (e.g. IAM, networking, logging, Operating systems, Containers.)
  • Manage SDN in GCP
  • Consume centrally agreed base HSBC Hardened OS (Linux and Windows)
  • Ensure compliance with centrally defined Security
  • Ensure compliancy with Operational risk standards (E.g. Network, Firewall, OS, Logging, Monitoring, Availability, Resiliency)
  • Build and support continuous integration (CI), continuous delivery (CD) and continuous testing activities
  • Engineering activities to implement patches provided centrally
  • Support non-functional testing
  • Update support and operational documentation as required
  • Fault find and support Applications teams
  • Ensure good Change management practice is implemented as specified by central standards.
  • Provide impact assessments where requested for changes proposed on HSBC GCP core platform
  • On a rotational on call basis provide out of business hours support as part of our 24 x 7 coverage

Requirements that must be met:

  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) (or another Cloud Service Provider), including:
    • Compute
    • Storage
    • VPC
    • XPN
  • Strong expertise in DevOps principles.
  • Expert knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery tools.
  • Experience configuring Software Defined Networking (SDN).
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, including:
    • Subnetting
    • NAT
    • Routing
  • Knowledge of cloud security technologies and standards, including:
    • IAM
    • ADFS
    • OAuth
    • Cloud monitoring, auditing, and compliance tools
  • Strong Linux administration skills (preferably Red Hat).
  • Experience with Linux or Windows Server administration.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management.
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools such as:
    • Terraform
    • Ansible
  • Programming experience in at least one of the following languages:
    • Python
    • Ruby
    • Java
    • JavaScript
    • Go
    • Groovy
    • Scala
  • Very good English and Polish
