Job Description AI Developer / GenAI Application Developer

Location: Chennai

Role Overview

We are looking for 2 hands-on AI Developers / GenAI Application Developers to work closely with the Gold Loan Business Team and Digital Transformation Team to identify, develop and implement AI-powered applications and automation solutions.

The resources will be responsible for converting business requirements into working AI applications, PoCs, APIs and production-ready solutions across the Gold Loan journey.

The role requires strong hands-on experience in Generative AI, LLMs, AI Agents, Document AI, OCR, Voice AI, API integration and AI application development.

Key Responsibilities

1. AI Application Development

• Understand business requirements from the Gold Loan and Digital teams and translate them into AI solutions.
• Design, develop and deploy AI-powered applications for business and operational use cases.
• Build rapid Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and convert successful PoCs into production-ready applications.
• Develop reusable AI components, APIs and services that can be integrated with existing applications.
• Work with Digital developers to integrate AI capabilities into mobile applications, web applications, LOS/LMS and internal systems.

The candidate should be capable of taking an idea/use case from business requirement solution design PoC development API integration deployment.

2. Generative AI & Agentic AI

• Develop applications using LLMs and Generative AI.
• Build RAG-based enterprise applications using internal documents and knowledge repositories.
• Develop AI Agents capable of performing multi-step tasks.
• Implement function calling, tool calling and structured JSON outputs.
• Develop prompt engineering strategies for business-specific use cases.
• Evaluate and select appropriate AI models based on accuracy, latency, security and cost.
• Work with models such as Claude, Gemini, GPT and other enterprise LLMs.

4. Collaboration with Team

The resources will work closely with the Digital Development team to:

• Understand existing application architecture.
• Integrate AI APIs into existing applications.
• Develop backend services and APIs required for AI use cases.
• Work with Android, web and backend developers.
• Conduct API testing and integration testing.
• Support deployment and productionisation.
• Monitor AI applications and improve performance.

5. Business & Innovation Responsibilities

• Proactively identify opportunities where AI can improve Gold Loan customer experience, operational efficiency, turnaround time and employee productivity.
• Work with business users to understand pain points and convert them into AI use cases.
• Evaluate new AI technologies, models and startups/tools where relevant.
• Conduct technical evaluations and PoCs.
• Present working prototypes to Business and Digital stakeholders.
• Maintain documentation of AI solutions, architecture and APIs.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should be a hands-on AI application developer who can independently build and demonstrate working solutions.

The candidate should be able to:

Understand Business Problem Design AI Solution Build PoC Develop Application/API Integrate with Digital Systems Test Deploy

Candidates whose experience is limited to AI/ML research, model training or theoretical knowledge without application development experience will not be preferred.

Experience

3–6 years total experience, with relevant hands-on experience in AI/GenAI application development.

Experience in BFSI, Banking, NBFC, FinTech or Lending will be an added advantage.
