Overview
Join an energy sector innovator building the AI foundations for its entire engineering org. This isn't another "add AI to the roadmap" role; you'll architect the shared tooling, frameworks, and infrastructure that let every dev team ship AI solutions fast, safely, and at scale.

Responsibilities
- Own Harness Engineering for AI: the SDKs, orchestration layers, and platform services that turn Generative AI from a one-off project into a company-wide capability.
- Hands-on experience building production LLM applications and setting technical standards as you go.
- Build the AI Harness Engineering capability — reusable frameworks, SDKs, and developer tooling used org-wide
- Design and ship AI-powered applications in Python using modern LLMs
- Create scalable patterns for RAG, AI agents, and workflow automation
- Develop APIs and services that make AI adoption easy for other teams
- Partner with data, platform, and engineering teams to embed AI into the wider data platform
- Set the architectural standards and best practices as the capability scales
Qualifications
- 5-7 years commercial Python experience
- Hands-on experience building GenAI applications with LLMs
- Exposure to Harness Engineering, developer platforms, or shared engineering tooling
- Practical use of LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or similar
- Solid grasp of RAG, embeddings, vector search, AI agents, and prompt engineering
- Experience building APIs and cloud-native services
- Comfortable with Docker, Git, and CI/CD
- Strong communicator, used to working across engineering teams
Nice to have
- FastAPI (or similar)
- Kubernetes, IaC, or MLOps tooling
- AI governance and responsible AI knowledge
