Job Description
We are looking for dependable On-Call/Floating Custodians who are available to work at different school locations throughout Douglas County based on staffing needs.
Floater employees must be flexible and willing to work at any assigned school location as needed. This position is ideal for individuals who have flexible availability and can step in to provide coverage when regular employees are absent or additional staffing is needed.
Employees who consistently demonstrate good attendance, punctuality, reliability, flexibility, and strong work performance may be considered for a permanent position when a regular position becomes available. Permanent placement is based on business needs, available openings, and employee performance.
Key Requirement:
- Monday–Friday
- Some Saturdays may be required
- Schedule and location may vary based on business needs
- Must be available to work at different school locations as needed
- Must have reliable transportation and be willing to work at any school within the assigned area.
SUMMARY:
The custodian cleans and keeps in an orderly condition in area such as classrooms, bathrooms, offices, cafeterias, common areas, gym and fitness areas, and perimeter grounds. Duties involve a combination of sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing floors; removing chips, trash, or other refuse; dusting equipment, furniture, or fixtures; polishing metal fixtures or trimmings; providing supplies and minor maintenance services; and cleaning lavatories, showers, and restrooms.
