General Maintenance Worker

ICMS is looking for General Maintenance Workers to join our team onsite for a contract in Beltsville, Maryland. Successful candidates are responsible for the maintenance, inspection, and repair of greenhouses and internal systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Perform regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.)

· Carry out preventive maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns

· Replace filters, bulbs, and other components as needed

· Diagnosing and repairing issues with building systems and equipment

· Fix minor electrical, plumbing, and mechanical problems

· Coordinate with contractors for major repairs and ensure work is completed to standards

· Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the facility

· Provide general support and assistance to trades and large preventative maintenance tasks

· Possess skills necessary to recognize, diagnose, and, within limits, repair equipment

· Understand verbal and written instructions and to give readily understood information in both verbal and written forms

Required Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in maintenance or a related field preferred

· 2+ years’ experience in general maintenance tasks and broad facility knowledge

· Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems

· Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams

· Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others

· Physical ability to perform manual tasks, lift heavy objects (up to 40lbs), and work in various environmental conditions.

· Ability to perform preventive maintenance according to published guidelines

· Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures and the confidence to suggest additional safety procedures.

· Must be able to use hand and power tools applicable to the trade

· Excellent written and verbal communication abilities in English.

Required Licenses and Certifications:

• A valid state’s driver's license (with no major infractions) is required
• OSHA 10/30 Training

Security Clearance:

All contractor personnel must attain and maintain a USDA LincPass and pass a background check; personnel must be U.S. Citizens or Lawful Permanent Residents.

Job Type: Non-Exempt, Full-Time Onsite Position (Telecommute not considered for this position)

Work schedules are subject to change based on client and company needs. As a management position, this person will be on call regularly and be available for and respond to emergencies off shift.

Hourly Pay: $26.68 per hour
