General Manager (A1 Maincon)
NewBe an early applicantOur client is an Singapore company in the Construction industry. Due to their current expansion plan, they are looking for an General Manager to join their Project team, in hopes of developing the current high performing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee construction projects from pre-construction planning through to successful completion, ensuring delivery within budget, schedule, quality and safety requirements.
- Monitor overall project performance, costs, timelines, quality standards and site safety.
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to project, site and management teams.
- Oversee project budgets, profitability, cash flow, contractual obligations and financial performance.
- Review and manage variations, claims, contracts and significant project costs to safeguard the company’s commercial interests.
- Lead tendering, pricing and business development initiatives, identifying opportunities to support the company’s growth.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers and other key business partners.
- Mentor, lead and develop the management and project teams, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Ensure all projects comply with BCA regulations, workplace safety requirements and other statutory obligations.
- Provide regular updates on business, financial and project performance to the Managing Director and Board.
Job Requirement:
- Degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Accountancy, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
- CPA, CA or equivalent professional accounting qualification is required.
- Minimum 15 years of relevant industry experience, preferably within the construction sector.
- At least 5 years of experience in a senior management, General Manager or equivalent leadership position.
- Strong knowledge of construction operations, contracts, project management, commercial management and cost control.
- Strong financial acumen with proven experience in budgeting, profitability management, cash flow and commercial decision-making.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, stakeholder management and decision-making skills.
- Good knowledge of BCA regulations, workplace safety standards and statutory requirements.
- High level of integrity, accountability and professional responsibility.
- Strategic and commercially minded, with the ability to balance operational, financial and business objectives.
