General Manager – Business Growth & Operations

Salary Range: S$6,000–S$7,000 per month

Ms Durian is looking for a commercially driven, hands-on General Manager – Business Growth & Operations to lead our corporate sales, marketing and day-to-day business operations.

Reporting directly to the Founder, you will be responsible for growing corporate sales, leading festive and brand campaigns, and overseeing our café, kitchen, fulfilment and customer-service operations.

This role is suitable for an experienced F&B leader who is ready to take on broader responsibility for business growth, team performance and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

1. Corporate Sales and Business Development

  • Develop and execute a clear corporate-sales strategy.

  • Grow revenue from corporate gifting, festive orders, bulk purchases, catering, events and business partnerships.

  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of prospective corporate clients.

  • Proactively approach companies, institutions, event organisers and potential partners.

  • Prepare corporate packages, quotations, proposals and presentations.

  • Build long-term relationships with clients and increase repeat orders.

  • Achieve agreed monthly, quarterly and annual corporate-sales targets.

  • Identify new products, partnerships, outlets and sales channels.

2. Marketing and Campaigns

  • Lead Ms Durian’s overall marketing and brand strategy.

  • Develop an annual marketing and festive campaign calendar.

  • Plan and execute campaigns for Chinese New Year, Hari Raya, Mid-Autumn Festival, Christmas, anniversaries, product launches and other key occasions.

  • Set clear sales, revenue and performance targets for each campaign.

  • Manage campaign concepts, budgets, timelines and execution.

  • Oversee online and offline marketing, social media, content, advertising, collaborations and in-store promotions.

  • Review campaign results and improve return on marketing expenditure.

3. Operations Management

  • Oversee café, kitchen, fulfilment and customer-service operations.

  • Ensure effective coordination between sales, marketing, production and operations.

  • Prepare the business operationally for corporate orders, festive campaigns and peak periods.

  • Improve productivity, workflows, order accuracy, turnaround time and service standards.

  • Monitor manpower, scheduling, inventory, procurement, production capacity and wastage.

  • Establish and maintain clear standard operating procedures.

  • Maintain product quality, food safety and customer-service standards.

  • Identify operational issues and implement practical solutions.

Financial and Team Management

  • Set sales targets, budgets and performance indicators.

  • Monitor revenue, gross profit, food costs, labour costs, marketing expenditure and operating expenses.

  • Improve productivity, cost control and overall profitability.

  • Lead and manage the sales, marketing and operations teams.

  • Set clear expectations and measurable targets for team members.

  • Conduct regular performance reviews and follow up on action plans.

  • Provide regular business-performance reports to the Founder.

Key Performance Indicators

Performance will be measured based on:

  • Achievement of corporate-sales revenue targets.

  • Growth in new and repeat corporate accounts.

  • Value and quality of the corporate-sales pipeline.

  • Revenue and return from marketing and festive campaigns.

  • Achievement of overall company sales and profitability targets.

  • Control of food costs, labour costs, wastage and operating expenses.

  • Improvement in order accuracy, fulfilment and customer satisfaction.

  • Team performance, productivity and accountability.

  • Development of new products, partnerships and sales channels.

Requirements

  • At least five years of relevant experience in F&B, hospitality, retail, consumer goods or a related industry.

  • Proven experience in corporate sales, business development or key-account management.

  • Experience planning and executing marketing or festive campaigns.

  • Strong operational and people-management experience.

  • Good understanding of budgets, margins, cost control and profitability.

  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and relationship-management skills.

  • Commercially minded, resourceful and results-oriented.

  • Able to think strategically while remaining actively involved in execution.

  • Comfortable working in a growing SME environment and supporting the business during peak periods.
