General Manager – Business Operations & HR

About the Role
Whip-Smart Service Providers Limited is seeking a commercially minded General Manager to oversee company-wide business operations, drive revenue and departmental targets, maintain client relationships, and ensure effective business operations with limited day-to-day CEO supervision.
The role requires strong HR, recruitment, and outsourcing expertise, with a focus on leading service delivery through the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee Sales, Recruitment, HR Service Delivery, Client Services, Administration, Accounts, and compliance operations.
- Drive verified revenue growth, collections, recruitment closures, and departmental KPIs.
- Supervise team leads, review performance, develop recovery strategies, and ensure timely execution.
- Protect client relationships, resolve escalations, and minimise preventable loss of vacancies.
- Ensure proper implementation of HR policies, onboarding, employee relations, documentation, and operational standards.
- Lead weekly performance reviews and report risks, achievements, owners, and deadlines to the CEO.
- Manage day-to-day operations independently within approved management authority and controls.
Requirements
- At least 5–8 years of relevant progressive experience, including 2–3 years leading teams or business operations.
- Strong practical HR/recruitment, staffing, or outsourcing experience, alongside commercial and operational leadership.
- Evidence of managing departmental targets, improving revenue or collections, leading client service, and retaining business.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, KPI reporting, client management, and execution skills.
- Ability to supervise the business when the CEO is away and recognise when to escalate material decisions.
Compensation & Career Development
- Fixed gross monthly salary of ₦350,000.
- Performance-based incentives of up to ₦100,000 monthly, subject to approved targets and verified results:
- Up to ₦40,000 for revenue and collections.
- Up to ₦30,000 for recruitment delivery and client retention.
- Up to ₦30,000 for departmental performance and compliance.
- Potential progression to Business Operations & HR Manager, General Manager, and broader leadership roles, subject to performance and business needs.
