Description

General Manager

This is the property’s defining leadership role: the person who turns a luxury promise into a lived experience, every day. You will set the standard for how guests are welcomed, how associates are led, and how the hotel performs. Success is not a title. It is a house that guests remember, a team that stays, and results the owner can trust.

Performance Objectives

  • Lead the hotel to sustained gains in guest satisfaction, loyalty, and reputation, with service recovery that protects the relationship and the brand.
  • Deliver the annual operating plan: grow revenue, protect rate and mix, and manage costs so profit and quality rise together.
  • Build a leadership bench that runs Rooms, Food and Beverage, Events, and guest services to published standards without constant intervention.
  • Hire, coach, and retain associates so engagement, service behavior, and internal promotion improve year over year.
  • Own the guest journey across arrival, stay, dining, and events, closing gaps found in surveys, reviews, and planner feedback.
  • Keep the asset safe, compliant, and well maintained, aligning capital and preventive work with guest impact and owner priorities.
  • Represent the hotel with owners, community partners, and key accounts so pipeline, reputation, and local relevance strengthen.

Environment & Resources

You lead the executive committee and the full associate team, with authority over daily operations, service standards, and the operating budget. You partner with ownership on strategy, capital, and performance, and with brand and regional leadership on standards and talent. Decision support includes property systems for reservations, revenue, finance, labor, and guest feedback, plus established procedures for safety, sanitation, and service.

Essential Qualifications

  • Proven general management, or equivalent multi-department leadership, in a full-service luxury or upper-upscale hotel.
  • A record of improving guest scores, associate engagement, and profit—not just holding the line.
  • Fluency in rooms, food and beverage, events, and revenue strategy sufficient to coach department leaders.
  • Strength in owner reporting, labor planning, and disciplined cost control without sacrificing the guest experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to select and develop leaders, and to model calm, personal service in front of guests.
  • Working knowledge of safety, employment, and hospitality compliance in the markets you have led.

Role Selling Points

  • Full accountability for a luxury house: guest experience, people, and financial results in one role.
  • A global hospitality community, with travel privileges and a path to broader leadership.
  • Bonus eligibility, comprehensive health benefits, and a culture that values distinctive backgrounds.
  • The chance to build leaders who carry anticipatory service long after you leave the floor.
