General Manager, Performance Tapes, North America

This is an opportunity to shape the strategic future of a $250M business. As the General Manager, Performance Tapes North America, you will lead our next phase of profitable growth. This role requires a forward-thinking leader in application based businesses, to define and execute the core purpose and mission of the business. Entrusted with full P&L and operational responsibility, you will have the autonomy to build the culture, scale operations, expand into new markets, and deliver strong financial results.
Key Responsibilities
Position Location & Work Status: Mentor, Ohio (On-site / Hybrid Leadership Role).
Financial & Strategic Leadership: Direct P&L responsibility and leadership, establishing clear direction, set challenging goals, and drive continuous improvements in productivity, return on total capital, and profitability across individual operating departments.
Customer & Operational Excellence: Drive a relentless focus on the customer by gathering actionable market insights, building strong collaborative partnerships, and delivering application-based solutions rooted in deep technical understanding.
Strategic Growth & Investments: Lead the development and implementation of regional specific strategies, identifying critical growth opportunities, and executing expansion capital investments to outpace competition.
Talent Leadership & Development: Attract, retain, evaluate, and mentor a high-performing leadership team, aligning workforce planning and fostering continuous learning and professional development.
Culture & Integrity: Cultivate a highly collaborative culture and unite teams to exceed shared business goals while championing the Corporation's Code of Business Ethics, Values, and Leadership Principles into every facet of the organization.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or equivalent required; Master’s degree preferred.
12+ years of business experience within the tapes, adhesives, or other application-based material science businesses/industries.
Demonstrated commercial leadership experience in application-based businesses with strong R&D connectivity to customers and deep exposure to manufacturing operations.
Strong analytical, financial management, and business acumen with a proven record of accomplishments in business development, growth market creation, and strategic marketing.
Innovative problem-solver with an executive presence, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the confidence to lead cross-regional or cross-BU initiatives independently.
The salary range for this position is $294,000 - $350,000 / year.
The hiring base salary range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate’s relevant skills, experience, education and training, and location, as well as the job scope and complexity, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel required for the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool.
