General Manager
GENERAL MANAGER
Reporting to the Managing Partners, the General Manager is responsible for the day to day management across Bermuda Security Group's business lines: Physical and Electronic Security and Cash Management Services and Secure Logistics. The successful candidate will be hands-on and directly involved in daily operations, including staff management client service delivery and operational problem solving. The General Manager executes the operating plans set by the Managing Partners and ensures each division runs efficiently, safely and profitably.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACTIVITIES
Operational Management
- Manage daily operations across Physical and Electronic Security, Cash Management Solutions and other Services.
- Ensure each division meets regulatory standards and service level agreements, contractual obligations and client expectations.
- Monitor, evaluate and enhance operational processes, workflow and system.
- Drive operational excellence, ensuring accountability, productivity, consistency and efficiency.
Human Resources Management
- Directly lead divisional managers and team members.
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, training and performance with Human Resources Department.
- Provide support to team to ensure day-to-day operations operate effectively and confidently.
- Drive talent development and succession planning for the group.
Client and Stakeholders Engagement
- Regular engagement of clients and the group’s internal and external customers. Ensure contracted service levels are met,
- Facilitate customer service excellence and presentation of quality management solutions and reports.
- Manage vendor and supplier relationships and agreements for local and international providers and partners.
Compliance and Operational Risk
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, national and international agencies and client and company policies.
- Maintain up to date standard operational procedures, reporting, risk assessment and health and safety protocols.
- Review contingency, emergency and natural disaster plans and business continuity inclusive of mitigate potential disruptions of services
- Investigate accidents, incidents, complaints and implement corrective action.
Financial Management
- Responsibility of groups affairs in accordance with the strategic plan and operational and capital budgets.
- Oversight and support of divisional budgets and control costs in collaboration with the Finance Department.
- Lead and manage projects
- Monitor operational KPIs and report to the Board.
Technology, Systems & Automation
- Enhance productivity through advanced technology and systems
- Ensure real time data and systems integrity in collaboration with IT
- Research and identify new business opportunities and industry trends.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- 10+ years of operational management experience, ideally within security services, protective services, financial industry, logistics or another regulated, service delivery driven industry.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management, Finance, Banking or a related field is preferred. A master’s degree is an asset. Applicants with equivalent/relevant operational experience will be considered.
- Experience managing multiple service lines or business units concurrently.
- Experience in the security services sector, deposit processing , including vault management services, treasury management and ATM management services.
- Knowledge of financial industry best practices and business unit functions and procedural documentation protocols.
- A solution focused management style with a demonstrated ability to assist where necessary and a proven track record of managing multiple, time sensitive priorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to make sound operational decisions under pressure.
- Experience managing operating budgets and controlling costs at a divisional level.
- Proven ability to manage client relationships and resolve service delivery issues directly.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS
Normal working days are Monday to Saturday. Due to the nature of the business, the incumbent must be available to respond to operational issues, including on public holidays, weekends and outside of normal working hours. This is not a standard office-based role as the incumbent will be regularly on site across all areas of operations.
