General Manager, Sales and Marketing
JOB OBJECTIVE
Responsible for leading the development and implementation of sales and marketing strategies that align with the company’s objectives. This role entails overseeing market research, product positioning, sales operations, and promotional activities, ensuring market share growth, customer satisfaction, and revenue generation.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Sales Strategy Development:
• Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies aimed at growing market share and achieving revenue targets.
• Lead the development of pricing models, product positioning strategies, and sales policies that maximize profitability.
2. Marketing Strategy:
• Design and implement marketing plans that enhance brand awareness and lead to customer acquisition and retention.
• Oversee digital marketing, advertising campaigns, trade shows, and customer outreach programs to drive demand.
3. Customer Relationship Management:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, distributors, and partners, ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term engagement.
• Act as a point of escalation for major client issues, providing timely and effective resolutions.
4. Market Research & Analysis:
• Conduct and oversee market research to understand industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs.
• Use market insights to adjust sales and marketing strategies, ensuring alignment with evolving market conditions.
5. Team Leadership:
• Manage and mentor the sales and marketing teams, ensuring they are aligned with the company’s goals and performing at their highest potential.
• Implement training and development programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the team.
6. Sales Forecasting and Performance Monitoring:
• Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reports, providing insights to senior management on sales trends and market dynamics.
• Track sales metrics and KPIs, ensuring that the team meets or exceeds sales goals.
7. Product Development and Launches:
• Collaborate with the product development and operations teams to ensure the successful launch of new products in the market.
• Manage go-to-market strategies and promotional campaigns for new products.
8. Sales Operations:
• Oversee sales operations, including territory management, distribution channels, and sales support functions.
• Ensure the implementation of an efficient sales process that drives revenue while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
9. Brand Management:
• Ensure consistent brand messaging across all marketing channels and communications.
• Oversee public relations and corporate communication efforts to strengthen Harvestfield's reputation.
10. Collaboration with Other Departments:
• Work closely with finance, procurement, and production teams to ensure sales and marketing strategies are aligned with operational capabilities.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of sales plans and marketing initiatives.
Key Performance Indicators
Sales Growth:
• Achievement of sales revenue targets and year-over-year growth in market share.
• Expansion into new markets or territories.
Customer Retention and Satisfaction:
• Customer retention rates and satisfaction scores, measured through feedback, surveys, and client reviews.
• Reduction in customer churn and increased repeat business.
Marketing Effectiveness:
• ROI on marketing campaigns, including customer acquisition cost (CAC) and lead conversion rates.
• Growth in brand recognition and product awareness, as measured by market research and sales data.
New Product Launches:
• Success in launching new products on time and meeting sales projections within the first 6-12 months post-launch.
Team Performance:
• Achievement of team sales targets, with individual team members meeting or exceeding their goals.
• Employee satisfaction and retention within the sales and marketing teams.
Profitability:
• Growth in profit margins through effective pricing strategies, cost control measures, and optimized marketing spend.
• Efficient allocation of resources to maximize returns on sales and marketing efforts.
Market Penetration:
• Increase in market penetration and distribution channels, particularly in underserved or new markets.

Requirements
Required Educational Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
• A Master’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration (MBA) or related field is preferred.
• Professional certifications in Sales, Marketing, or Digital Marketing are a plus.
Others
• Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in sales and marketing, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven experience in developing and executing successful sales and marketing strategies in a manufacturing, industrial, or FMCG environment.
• Experience in managing large sales teams and marketing campaigns across multiple regions.
