About the Opportunity
A growing regional fire and life safety company is seeking
an experienced General Manager to lead a multi-line business across
service operations, fire suppression, electronic security, intercommunication,
installation, and enterprise sales.
This is a significant leadership opportunity for an
experienced operator who can take ownership of business performance, develop
high-performing teams, grow strategic customer relationships, and help shape
the next phase of a successful regional platform.
The General Manager will serve as the senior regional
business leader and will be accountable for P&L performance, revenue
growth, gross margin, EBITDA contribution, customer relationships, operational
performance, and team development across multiple business lines.
This role is well suited for an experienced leader who is
equally comfortable reviewing financial performance, developing enterprise
relationships, removing operational barriers, and walking a job site with field
teams.
What You Will Lead
Business Performance & P&L Ownership
- Own
the regional P&L, including revenue, gross margin, overhead, and
EBITDA contribution.
- Establish
annual operating plans and revenue targets across service, suppression,
security, and installation.
- Identify
opportunities to expand into new verticals, geographies, and service
capabilities.
- Report
business performance to executive leadership with visibility into key
leading and lagging indicators.
Enterprise Sales & Strategic Accounts
- Lead
or directly support the pursuit of large enterprise accounts, general
contractors, and property management firms.
- Build
and maintain executive-level relationships with key clients and strategic
partners.
- Drive
account retention, customer satisfaction, and account expansion.
- Align
sales growth with operational capacity to ensure new business can be
successfully delivered and supported.
- Partner
with operational leadership to ensure effective transitions from
construction and installation into long-term service.
Operational Leadership
- Provide
strategic direction and performance accountability to operational
leadership.
- Remove
resource and operational barriers that impact service, testing, and
installation teams.
- Establish
high standards for safety, compliance, quality, and customer experience.
- Oversee
management-level hiring and organizational structure decisions.
Culture & Leadership Development
- Build
a high-performance culture centered on accountability, communication, and
continuous improvement.
- Develop
internal leadership and identify future managers and high-potential
employees.
- Create
stronger leadership depth and succession capabilities.
- Represent
the company professionally with customers, industry partners, employees,
and the community.
Platform Growth & Collaboration
The General Manager will work collaboratively with executive
leadership and affiliated business partners to identify opportunities to share
best practices, resources, market intelligence, talent, vendor relationships,
service capabilities, and geographic coverage.
This leader will be expected to think beyond a single
business unit and identify opportunities that strengthen the broader
organization.

What We're Looking For
Experience
- 10+
years of experience in fire-life safety, fire suppression, low-voltage
security, or a related specialty contracting environment.
- Deep
experience in fire-life safety is strongly preferred.
- Construction
or contracting experience is a meaningful differentiator.
- 5+
years of experience in senior general management, regional leadership, or
equivalent P&L responsibility.
- Demonstrated
success growing a multi-line service business organically and through
strategic account development.
- Proven
experience building and leading high-performing operational and sales
teams.
Technical & Industry Knowledge
- Working
knowledge of fire alarm, fire suppression, electronic security, and
intercommunication systems.
- Ability
to lead credibly with technicians, customers, contractors, and Authorities
Having Jurisdiction.
- Familiarity
with NFPA 72, NFPA 25, NFPA 101, and the New England regulatory
environment.
- Experience
working with unionized labor, including union contracts, grievance
procedures, and labor relations.
- Comfort
with field service management platforms and business reporting tools.
Education
- Bachelor's
degree preferred or required, depending on experience.
- Equivalent
directly relevant industry and leadership experience may be considered.
