General Manager
Job Summary:
The Operation Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the storage, inventory management, and distribution of materials and finished goods within the manufacturing facility. The role ensures optimal stock levels, maintains accurate records, and coordinates with production, logistics, and HR teams to support seamless factory operations, staff management, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- 1. Inventory & Warehouse Management
- Maintain accurate inventory records using ERP or other inventory management systems.
- Monitor stock levels and initiate reorder processes to prevent shortages or excess.
- Conduct regular stock audits and reconcile discrepancies.
- Oversee daily warehouse activities including receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials and finished products.
- Ensure proper storage conditions, safety protocols, and optimal warehouse layout for efficiency.
2. Supply Chain & Logistics Coordination
- Collaborate with procurement, production, and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
- Track and coordinate the movement of materials to align with production schedules.
- Optimize logistics for cost efficiency and timely deliveries.
3. Team Supervision & HR Responsibilities
- Supervise warehouse staff, including recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management.
- Develop work schedules and assign tasks to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
- Foster a safe, disciplined, and motivated work environment.
- Conduct regular training on safety procedures and operational best practices.
- Handle HR-related issues such as attendance, grievances, and disciplinary actions in coordination with HR department.
4. Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to safety standards, company policies, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct safety drills and promote a safety-first culture.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of hazardous materials, if applicable.
- Support quality control activities related to inventory and storage.
5. Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare and maintain reports on inventory status, stock movements, and warehouse performance.
- Document processes, incidents, and compliance records for audits and internal reviews.
- Provide operational reports to management to support decision-making.
6. Process Improvement & Cost Management
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in warehouse operations.
- Implement best practices for efficiency, waste reduction, and cost savings.
- Manage departmental budget and control expenses related to store operations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration.
- Experience: 10 to 15+ years in manufacturing, with 5+ years managing people.
- Key Skills: Lean Six Sigma, automation integration, and union negotiation. [1, 2]
- Proven experience in warehouse management, inventory control, or similar roles within manufacturing.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office.
- Strong understanding of safety standards and compliance requirements.
- Effective communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
