General Manager - Tourism Services

Job Overview:

The General Manager - Tourism Services will be responsible for driving growth and operational excellence across all facets of the Tourism business. This role involves increasing sales and revenue, expanding market presence, developing both new and existing accounts, overseeing key business units (including Travel Shops and Ancillary Services), and leading initiatives to enhance awareness of VFS Global's tourism products and services.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Revenue Growth:

- Drive the achievement of revenue and profitability targets for the Tourism Department.

- Set both short-term and long-term goals for Tourism Services, crafting and executing effective strategies to meet these objectives.

- Develop and implement promotional activities for Tourism Services and its partners to boost brand presence and achieve growth targets.

Operational and Market Expansion:

- Manage all Tourism business units, including representation accounts, Travel Shops, ancillary services, and special projects.

- Expand the reach of VFS Global Tourism Services across diverse geographies and markets.

- Oversee branding and marketing efforts to enhance the market presence of VFS Global Tourism Services.

Leadership and Relationship Management:

- Lead and inspire a team of Tourism professionals across various regions.

- Establish an efficient operational and organizational structure for the Tourism unit.

- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key travel partners, fostering strong alliances to support growth and service quality.

Team Management & Succession Planning:

- Manage and develop staff, including performance management, training, and career development.

- Create and maintain a robust talent pipeline to ensure succession planning (1:2 ratio).

Environment, Social & Governance:

- Oversee corporate governance within the assigned region, ensuring alignment with organizational principles, policies, and regulations.

- Promote judicious use of natural resources and adhere to the organization's environment, health, and safety policies, objectives, and guidelines.

- Drive the organization's sustainability initiatives, working towards achieving established targets.

Anti Bribery Management Systems (ABMS):

- Follow the ABMS roles and responsibilities details as prescribed on the ABMS manual.

- 1. Understanding of ethical standards and the importance of integrity in business practices.

Education:

Graduate/ postgraduate or Global Equivalent Degree.

Experience:

12 - 14 years' overall experience including a minimum of 8 years' experience in a unit head role in a travel company.
