Operations / Warehouse
General Manager - Warehouse
Reports to: Vice President of Operations
Leads: RPPC Supervisor; Shipping Supervisor; Returns Supervisor
Role overview
Lead the warehouse through the RPPC, Shipping, and Returns supervisors. Own the combined performance of receiving, storage, picking, packing, loading, and returns. This is primarily a management-through-supervisors role, with hands-on training or assistance when needed rather than a routine production assignment.
Responsibilities
- Set warehouse priorities, review departmental results, and hold supervisors accountable for directing their teams. Resolve issues that cross departments without duplicating every supervisor's daily assignments.
- Balance staffing, workload, and resources across the operation. Support the earlier picking schedule and later shipping and carrier-loading window, addressing bottlenecks that threaten the day's commitments.
- Maintain accountability for inventory handling, order accuracy, protective and efficient packaging, and timely carrier handoff. Coordinate investigation of recurring errors and operating problems.
- Manage warehouse resources within the approved budget. Identify staffing, training, equipment, and process needs and bring practical recommendations to Lillie.
- Develop supervisors, clarify responsibilities, and ensure workable coverage. Stay familiar with warehouse tasks and assist with demonstrations, employee training, or physical work when the situation requires it.
- Coordinate warehouse needs with Customer Service, accounting, purchasing, and photography. Support organized and safe work practices and reliable handoffs of products and information.
- Must be trained, evaluated, and authorized to operate warehouse forklifts/hi-los, or be willing and able to complete company-provided training and evaluation. Provide equipment-operation backup when needed.
