General Production Worker

SUMMARY:

The General Production Worker performs a variety of tasks within their assigned department. Departments may include Finishing, Parts, Grinding, Strapping, Upholstery, Assembly, Table Tops, Packing, and Shipping.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Complete assigned tasks correctly, safely, and on time.
• Follow established procedures and instructions for assigned tasks.
• Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and specifications.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Work efficiently and consistently strive to improve productivity.
• Pay close attention to any machinery or equipment being operated and report any improper operation or concerns to the supervisor immediately.
• Ask a supervisor for assistance or clarification whenever unsure about a task, procedure, or equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

SAFETY:

• Understand and follow all Company safety policies, procedures, and work practices.
• Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety requirements applicable to the assigned department.
• Report unsafe conditions, safety violations, or employees not wearing required PPE to a Lead, Supervisor, or Manager.
• Immediately notify the department Lead, Supervisor, or Manager of any serious safety concern or situation requiring attention.
• Work in a manner that promotes a safe workplace for yourself and others.

QUALIFICATIONS:

BILINGUAL SKILLS: Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are a plus, but are not required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to communicate effectively in English or Spanish as necessary to perform assigned job duties and understand workplace and safety instructions.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Posses basic mathematical skills.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to ask for additional direction or assistance when unsure of what to do or when clarification is needed.

• Regular use of hands to fingers handles or feels.
• Required to reach with hands and arms.
• Must be able to lift, move and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Required to stand and walk throughout the day (except for seamstress')

• Specific vision abilities required may include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
