General Workshop Assistant

About the role
We produce custom picture frames, fine art prints, and restoration work for private clients, galleries, hotels, and corporate customers. This is a hands-on production support role. You will learn practical framing skills on the job and support the workshop team across the production process.
Responsibilities
- Assisting framers with production tasks: holding, positioning, and passing materials during joining, mounting, and glazing
- Cutting and preparing packaging materials; wrapping, boxing, and labelling completed frames for collection or delivery
- Fitting backing boards, hanging hardware (D-rings, wire, security fittings), and bumpers to finished frames
- Moving artwork and completed frames carefully within the workshop and to the loading area, including helping to load and unload the company van
- Basic stock duties: receiving moulding, mat board, and glass deliveries, checking quantities against orders, and keeping storage racks organised and labelled
- Keeping work areas tidy and materials returned to their proper locations at the end of each day
- Supporting the team during installation preparation: packing tools, hardware kits, and protective materials for off-site jobs
- Ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the workshop supervisor
Requirements
- Careful hands and attention to detail; you will be handling customer artwork and glass
- Able to perform physical work including standing for extended periods and lifting up to 20kg with assistance
- Willing to learn; no framing experience needed
- Basic spoken English or Mandarin
- Singapore Citizen or PR (we have no quota)
