Generator Service Engineer
Summary
Maintains and repairs diesel/gas generators, performing inspections, diagnostics, and load testing to minimize downtime for an engineering and construction firm.

Responsibilities
- Perform routine servicing, inspections and preventive maintenance of diesel and gas generator systems.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and control-system faults.
- Conduct load testing and inspect batteries, fuel systems, cooling systems and control panels.
- Respond to breakdowns and perform on-site repairs to minimise downtime.
- Assist with the installation, testing and commissioning of new generator systems.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend parts replacement or system upgrades.
- Maintain accurate service reports, maintenance records and equipment logs.
- Ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health regulations and established safety procedures.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering, or an equivalent technical qualification.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in servicing and maintaining generators or related electromechanical equipment.
- Strong knowledge of engine systems, electrical circuits and control panels, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Building Construction Supervisors Safety Course certification is required, with willingness to provide on-call emergency support.
