Summary
Administer and maintain the Genetec Security Center platform, handling access control, video management, firmware upgrades, and system health monitoring for a client's physical security infrastructure.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Administer and maintain the Genetec Security Center platform across Access Control and Video Management modules, including user/cardholder management, schedules, access rules, camera configuration, and system health monitoring.
Perform routine device maintenance, including applying server patches and OS updates to Security Center servers on a scheduled, tested cadence.
Plan and execute firmware upgrades on access control controllers and IP cameras, validating compatibility and minimizing operational downtime.
Lead planning and execution of Security Center software upgrades, including pre-upgrade testing, rollback planning, and post-upgrade validation.
Write and maintain clear, repeatable procedures (SOPs/MOPs) for patching, firmware upgrades, platform upgrades, backup/recovery, and routine administration tasks.
Monitor system health and performance, proactively identifying and remediating device, server, or connectivity issues before they impact operations.
Manage user roles, permissions, and access levels within Security Center in accordance with Itron's security policies and least-privilege principles.
Coordinate with Itron IT/network teams on server infrastructure, network connectivity, and integration points supporting the physical security environment.
Support investigations by retrieving and exporting video and access control data in accordance with chain-of-custody procedures.
Maintain accurate system documentation, including device inventories, network diagrams, upgrade logs, and change records.
Participate in change management processes for all maintenance, patching, and upgrade activities, ensuring proper approvals and communication.

Provide guidance and training to site personnel on day-to-day platform use as needed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
3-5+ years of hands-on administration experience with Genetec Security Center, covering both Access Control and Video Management (Omnicast) modules.
Demonstrated experience performing firmware upgrades on access control controllers (e.g., Synergis) and IP camera fleets.
Experience with server patch management and routine device maintenance in a Windows Server environment.
Track record of leading or supporting Security Center platform upgrades, including planning, testing, and rollback procedures.
Strong technical writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, step-by-step procedures and documentation for a mixed technical/non-technical audience.
Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (VLANs, firewalls, IP addressing) as they relate to physical security device deployments.
Ability to work independently as an on-site resident resource, managing priorities across multiple sites in the NAM region.

Strong communication and coordination skills for working across client IT, security, and facilities stakeholders.
NICE TO HAVE
Genetec certification (GCA – Genetec Certified Associate or GSSP – Genetec Security Systems Professional).
Experience supporting physical security operations in a manufacturing, utility, or industrial environment.
Familiarity with adjacent VMS/access control platforms (e.g., Milestone, Lenel) or OT/IoT-connected device environments.
Experience with change management tooling and ITSM processes (e.g., ServiceNow).
