Genetic Counselor

About the Position: This position is located at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Provide comprehensive genetic counseling for clients and families with genetic, genomic, epigenetic, pharmacogenetic conditions.

Collect comprehensive genetic histories and family histories, construct multi-generational pedigrees, analyze data to support diagnostic evaluations and testing, and collaborate with health care professionals.

Provide advisory and clinical support to patients and/or parents/individuals for face-to-face counseling and education.

Provide genetic counseling support through participating in multidisciplinary medical activities.

Provide input towards new approaches to patient service based on past experience and newly learned techniques.

Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures related to program implementation.

Identify families at risk, interpret information about the disorder, analyze inheritance patterns, and review available options with the family.
