About the Position: The incumbent will serve as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Inland Electronic Navigational Chart Program Geographer within the U.S. Army Geospatial Center Survey Engineering and Mapping Technical Center of Expertise. Management may select from any grade level advertised in this announcement. If selecting at a lower grade level, the selectee may be eligible for promotion to the full performance level without further competition.

Serve as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Inland Electronic Navigational Chart (IENC) Program Geographer within the U.S. Army Geospatial Center (AGC) Survey Engineering and Mapping Technical Center of Expertise.

Coordinates with USCG personnel in the development of chart data products for placement of AtoNs and methods of data transfer between agencies.

Participates in interagency meetings and workshops.

Supports collection of waterway geospatial data among all districts for the charting of waterway conditions.

Executes the production, maintenance and distribution of navigational chart products based on IHO S-57-based Inland Electronic Navigational Chart (IENC) standards.

Solves problems requiring versatility and innovation in adapting, modifying, or extending Engineering Manuals, guides, criteria, or normal field practices.

Advises District managers and helps employ navigation information services capabilities available for specific field needs.

Assists AGC, ERDC, IWR and Centers of expertise researchers with field pilot projects to test research products and new technology
