GEOSPATIAL WEB DEVELOPER
INCATech is looking for a highly motivated Geospatial Web Developer to support custom Application Development efforts to meet user requirements relating to data integration, mapping and visualization, data management and UX-based requirements. The Geospatial Web Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing a complex geospatial SPA that leverages both spatial and non-spatial APIs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
INCATech is looking for a highly motivated Geospatial Web Developer to support custom Application Development efforts to meet user requirements relating to data integration, mapping and visualization, data management and UX-based requirements. The Geospatial Web Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing a complex geospatial SPA that leverages both spatial and non-spatial APIs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Envision, design, and develop web applications and UI modules to support map-centric applications
- Work independently to rapidly prototype web-application components and functionality to showcase new concepts and ideas, suggesting new technologies and approaches, often demonstrating and championing their use
- Work with client and team members to understand to understand the requirements for developing geospatial solutions leveraging Esri’s ArcGIS Platform (ArcGIS Enterprise-based hosted services)
- Create a rich developer-friendly toolkit to consume new server-side GIS functionalities, using the latest relevant techniques and best practices
- Build client-side state management systems that integrate a cohesive SPA experience while ensuring application remains performant
- Apply sound software design and development practices in daily activities
- Write comprehensive technical design specifications and support documentation
- Estimate the duration and level of effort of development tasks
- Support design and implementation of automated testing frameworks to ensure API and Web clients remain synchronized

- Experience and expertise designing, developing and supporting web-based geospatial software application development efforts
- Experience with - HTML, JavaScript, CSS
- Experience with modern JavaScript Libraries/Frameworks. React heavily preferred.
- Strong team skills and the ability to work independently. · Demonstrated ability to collaborate with peers, clients, and share ideas on complex matters. · Excellent oral and written communication.
- Experience with web mapping APIs to query, visualize, filter and interact with spatial data
- Ability to provide valuable feedback and recommendations on web development patterns and processes
- Experience with Git and various hosted implementation such as GitHub/GitLab.
- Experience with configuring build systems/tooling such as Vite
- Bachelors in information technology, computer science, engineering, mathematics, GIS, or a related field preferred.
Preferred:
- Experience with developing responsive web applications to include desktop/tablet/mobile viewports
- Experience with CICD tooling such as GitHub Actions
- Experience with the Esri JavaScript and REST APIs;
- Experience with charting libraries such as Chart.js, Highcharts and D3.js
- Experience with unit and/or integration testing
- Familiarity with Web Accessibility including section 508 compliance
- Experience with Typescript
- Experience with CSS preprocessors such as SASS, LESS
