SOCOTEC-Campbell Hall, NY, a well-established New York-based construction materials testing and inspection firm with multiple offices across the Northeast, is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer. SOCOTEC a global leader in geotechnical engineering has introduced geotechnical services in the Northeast. In addition to our experienced field geologists, SOCOTEC offers a state-of-the-art laboratory, including a petrographic lab.
RESPONSIBLITIES
- Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals, ensuring alignment with client needs and project objectives.
- Coordinate daily scheduling of staff assignments for field and laboratory assignments in support of projects.
- Organize and oversee geotechnical field investigations, coordinate and monitor drilling operations, analyze subsurface data, and evaluate laboratory test results.
- Provide support and leadership for regional staff, along with technical support for staff and clients.
- Conduct site visits to conduct or monitor work being performed, provide technical guidance, and address emergent issues.
- Prepare technical reports, evaluations, and construction-level documents summarizing geotechnical findings and recommendations. Regularly interface with clients and their respective project teams to maintain client positive client relations and quality of service.
- Assist with recruitment, hiring and retention of staff.
- Perform testing and/or inspection of materials as necessary, inclusive of all associated documentation and reporting activities.
- Prepare samples of materials for laboratory testing, as needed.
- Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Other related duties may be assigned.
