NRGI is seeking an experienced Economic Analyst to join our Ghana program.

The Economic Analyst will play an important role in advancing NRGI's analytical and policy work on natural resource governance in Ghana. The successful candidate will lead and contribute to economic and policy analysis supporting policy reform, advocacy, capacity development, and technical assistance.

The role will have a particular focus on revenue management, oil and gas, mining and minerals, energy transition and transition minerals.

Working closely with the Ghana team and colleagues across NRGI, the Economic Analyst will generate research, data and analysis that can inform policy discussions and contribute to improved natural resource governance in Ghana.

Key Responsibilities

· Conduct strategic economic research and quantitative and qualitative analysis on extractives governance, energy transition, transition minerals and revenue management

· Develop economic and financial models and synthesize complex datasets to inform policy and programming

· Produce high-quality research, policy briefs, blogs and other thought-leadership outputs

· Provide economic analysis and technical assistance to support Ghana program strategy and implementation

· Design and deliver training, workshops, conferences and stakeholder dialogues

· Manage projects, consultants, budgets, timelines, reporting and MEL activities

· Contribute to funding proposals and support donor relationship management and compliance

· Build and maintain relationships with government, civil society, development partners, private sector and other key stakeholders

· Support advocacy and communications strategies and communicate research findings to diverse audiences

· Represent NRGI at relevant conferences, events and policy forums

Experience & Technical Skills

· A minimum of five years' experience working as an economic analyst in international development.

· At least two years' experience in extractive industry governance in Ghana, or experience in areas such as public financial management, taxation, micro-economic issues, state-owned enterprise management, energy transition, transition minerals or related fields.

· Excellent quantitative analysis skills, including experience synthesizing data from multiple sources.

· Experience working with government and non-state actors on development policy issues in Ghana.

· Experience providing practical technical assistance on policy or research issues to decision-makers.

· Experience designing or delivering training and capacity-development interventions.

· Strong strategic and conceptual thinking skills.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

· Strong collaboration and stakeholder-management skills.

· Work experience in Ghana is essential.

· Excellent written and spoken French and professional proficiency in English.

Education

A master’s degree in economics or a related field is required.
