GIS Engineer- Intern

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated GIS Engineer Intern to support our geospatial team in collecting, processing, analyzing, and visualizing spatial data. This is a hands-on opportunity to work on real-world mapping and location-intelligence projects.

Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and manage spatial datasets from various sources
  
• Create, edit, and maintain maps, layers, and geodatabases
  
• Perform spatial analysis and generate visualizations to support projects
  
• Assist in digitizing, georeferencing, and quality-checking GIS data
  
• Support development of web-based GIS applications and dashboards
  
• Document workflows, datasets, and analysis results
  
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and project teams
  

Requirements

• Pursuing or recently completed a degree in GIS, Geography, Geomatics, Civil/Geospatial Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  
• Working knowledge of GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS)
  
• Familiarity with spatial data formats (Shapefile, GeoJSON, KML, raster/vector data)
  
• Basic understanding of coordinate systems and map projections
  
• Exposure to scripting/programming (SQL) is a plus
  
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills
  
• Good communication and willingness to learn
