GIS - Solution Architect
Job Description
The GIS Solution Architect will drive the digital transformation of enterprise geospatial systems, leading the technical migration of complex ArcGIS ecosystems from on-premises infrastructure to the cloud. This role serves as the technical authority bridging GIS spatial science with modern .NET/JS software engineering, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and compliant with enterprise security and governance standards.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust, cloud-native architectures for ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise (Portal, Server, Data Store) within cloud environments (Azure/AWS).
- Lead the migration strategy for legacy GIS platforms, navigating technical and security constraints to ensure seamless transition to the cloud.
- Oversee development of enterprise web applications using C# .NET, React, and Next.js, integrated with ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript.
- Ensure all digital solutions meet enterprise security, governance, and quality protocols.
- Develop and optimise Python (ArcPy, GDAL) and FME pipelines to automate geoprocessing and ETL tasks.
- Implement microservices using .NET/Python and Docker, managed through DevOps CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.
- Act as technical lead in discussions with business stakeholders, translating business requirements into technical blueprints and managing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phases.
Requirements
- Expert knowledge of cloud platforms and cloud services (EC2, S3, EKS, Lambda).
- Strong experience with ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Monitor, ArcGIS Pro, ArcObjects, and Esri Workflow Manager (WFM).
- Advanced proficiency in C# .NET Core/8, Python, RESTful APIs, and modern front-end frameworks (React/Next.js).
- Hands-on experience with spatial data science and image processing libraries (OpenCV, RasterIO, PyTorch).
- Azure or AWS Associate-level certification, or ISTQB Foundation certification (preferred).
- OWASP certification is an advantage.
