NALEJ is hiring a GitLab SME (Subject Matter Expert) to lead the configuration, operation, and security of our GitLab DevSecOps platform. This role ensures seamless software delivery pipelines, secure source control, and automated compliance workflows across our development environments. You’ll work cross-functionally to enable CI/CD, GitOps, and secure SCM practices in a DoD-compliant environment.

Location: Remote (occasional in office in D.C.)
Citizenship Requirement: U.S. Citizenship Required
Clearance Requirement: Active or Interim DoD Security Clearance
Certification Requirement: IAT Level II (e.g., Security+, SSCP, or CCNA Security)
Travel: Occasional
On-Call: Yes (shared rotation)
Responsibilities
- Administer and secure GitLab (self-hosted) across multiple environments.
- Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and applications.
- Integrate GitLab with Kubernetes (GitOps), scanners, and secrets management.
- Apply access control and DoD security standards within GitLab projects and groups.
- Monitor system performance and pipeline efficiency.
- Manage GitLab upgrades, backups, and failover strategies.
- Collaborate with developers and DevSecOps to optimize delivery pipelines.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship
- Active or Interim DoD Security Clearance
- IAT Level II Certification (Security+, SSCP, or CCNA Security)
- 3+ years of GitLab administration experience (self-hosted)
- Experience creating advanced GitLab CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with SAST, DAST, and other DevSecOps tools
- Strong Linux and Git experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of GitOps workflows (e.g., Argo CD)
- Familiarity with Keycloak, OIDC/SAML authentication
- Experience with GitLab in secure/air-gapped environments
- Prior experience supporting classified or FedRAMP systems
