Global Customs Manager (m/f/d)

Your Role

• Take global responsibility for customs law, export control, and sanctions compliance, ensuring adherence to legal and internal requirements worldwide

• Provide functional guidance and coordination to regional Customs Heads and points of contact at our plants and production sites

• Develop, implement, and continuously refine global policies, standards, governance structures, and controls

• Ensure consistent, efficient, and legally compliant implementation of requirements across all regions

• Lead international projects to standardize, digitalize, and automate trade compliance processes

• Drive the global rollout and ongoing development of SAP GTS and other compliance tools

• Analyze and optimize global business and supply chain processes to reduce risk and improve compliance, data quality, and efficiency

• Advise, train, and support internal stakeholders, while collaborating closely with other departments, authorities, industry associations, and external experts

Your Profile

• Several years of experience in international customs, export control, or global trade compliance — ideally gained within an international industrial company

• Strong expertise in customs law, export control, sanctions screening, and SAP GTS, particularly in customs processing, export control, and sanctions list checks

• Proven track record of leading international teams, regional functions, and decentralized sites in a matrix organization

• Hands-on experience developing and rolling out global policies, standards, and control frameworks

• Experience driving international transformation, digitalization, and automation projects

• A strong grasp of end-to-end processes and how customs interfaces with logistics, supply chain, sales, procurement, IT, tax, and production

• A strategic, analytical, and hands-on mindset, combined with sound risk and process judgment and strong communication skills

• Fluent in German and English, confident engaging with international stakeholders, and willing to travel occasionally
