Volatility and Structuring is J.P. Morgan’s Equities Derivatives and Strategic Index trading organization, delivering innovative and industry-leading products for trading and managing risk. The Product Development Team sits within these two businesses and leads the end-to-end delivery of platforms and technological capabilities used by trading, quantitative researchers, and external clients. This includes assessing commercial opportunities, defining product strategy and design, aligning resources, and leading end-to-end implementation across the trade lifecycle, including electronic trading, risk computation and evaluation, scenario analysis, and trade lifecycle management.

As a Vice President in Global Equities Product Development, you will define, measure, and drive the implementation of strategic initiatives for the Equities Derivatives and Strategic Index businesses. The role will require working with stakeholders, including Quantitative Research, to define product strategy and go-to-market plans, and to oversee technical implementation and measurement. This is an inherently technical role within a revenue-generating Front Office function.

Job responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end implementation of new initiatives, including defining the business purpose, benefits, technical implementation details, and measurements of success across multiple levels of seniority.
  • Prioritize the most significant work needed to optimize go-to-market delivery and risk mitigation within a revenue-generating business.
  • Perform the Product Owner role from a Front Office perspective for multiple initiatives, including establishing the “definition of done” and measurements of success.
  • Partner closely with colleagues to understand business opportunities, process improvements, and workflows, and to deliver strategic platform and product solutions.
  • Develop business requirements and technical specifications, and drive implementation in partnership with business users and technology teams.
  • Establish appropriate governance, including control processes and procedures, for the business supported.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) from an accredited academic institution.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in product management, platform delivery, or front-office change within financial services.
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate complex software or mathematical concepts in clear written and spoken language for audiences with varying levels of expertise.
  • Relevant and recent programming experience (Python, Java, or C++).
  • Applied quantitative financial product knowledge, ideally in equity derivatives.
  • Strong, disciplined product owner skills (e.g., Agile, Kanban) and experience delivering large-scale projects in complex operating environments (e.g., Confluence, Jira, Agile development).
  • Demonstrated understanding of end-to-end (E2E) trading system architecture and technology capabilities from both tactical and strategic perspectives.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Experience supporting or delivering platforms for equity derivatives trading, structuring, or risk management.
  • Experience with equity derivatives products and related capabilities (pricing, risk, scenario analysis, trade capture, and lifecycle events).
  • Experience delivering electronic trading or analytics capabilities for institutional clients.
  • Relevant professional qualifications from reputable training institutes or professional bodies (due recognition will be given).
  • Experience working in a global, multi-time-zone operating model.
