About Wellio

It's probably not news to you that wellbeing and mental health issues are rising globally. 40% of young people have experienced a mental health disorder in the past year alone, so chances are you know someone who has been affected.

At Wellio, we help schools put wellbeing at the heart of every student’s school experience. We believe improving youth mental health is one of the most important challenges of our time.

Wellio is building the world’s first Wellbeing Management System, bringing the best of student wellbeing practice into one simple platform. We help schools teach wellbeing consistently, identify students who may be struggling earlier, coordinate support and continuously improve student outcomes.

And it’s working.

Today, Wellio powers wellbeing programs in 1,000 schools across 25 countries, supporting millions of students. We’re on track to complete our fourth consecutive year of 100% growth, and we’re just getting started.

It shouldn’t matter which school you attend, or what country you live in. Every student should have access to the best tools and support to thrive. Our mission is big and important, and that’s why we’re looking for the very best people to help us achieve it.

About the Role

We’re looking for an exceptional Global Head of Sales to lead Wellio’s global sales organisation through its next stage of growth.

This is a genuinely global leadership role. You’ll lead teams operating across Australia, the UK and International Schools, with people based across Melbourne, Sydney, London and Singapore. You’ll work closely with our established regional leaders in Australia, the UK and Singapore, building one high-performing global sales organisation.

We’ve already built a sales engine that has helped Wellio grow by 100% year on year. We have an exceptional product, talented salespeople, a deeply meaningful mission and a global market that urgently needs what we’re building.

Now, we want to turn Wellio from an extremely fast-growing and proven EdTech company into a truly world-leading global business.

To do that, we need someone who knows what great looks like.

This role is equal parts strategy and execution. We need someone who can turn ambitious company targets into a clear and credible global revenue plan, build the organisation and operating discipline to deliver it, and develop exceptional salespeople and leaders, while staying close enough to the work to step in, coach and solve problems when required.

This will be one of the most important hires we make. You’ll work directly with the founders, join Wellio’s leadership team and have the autonomy to shape the people, systems, structure and strategy behind our next stage of growth.

What You’ll Do

  • Design the global sales organisation for Wellio’s next stage: shape the structure, roles, leadership layers and regional responsibilities required to scale effectively across markets.
  • Own Wellio’s global new-business number: take full accountability for sales performance across Australia, the UK and International Schools.
  • Build a predictable global sales engine: create and continuously improve the playbooks and processes that consistently generate, progress and close high-quality opportunities across markets, from prospecting and qualification through to negotiation and closing.
  • Lead our regional sales leaders: manage and develop our sales leadership across Australia, the UK and Singapore, creating global consistency, clear accountability and exceptional performance while respecting the differences between markets.
  • Create genuine Sales and Marketing alignment: work closely with our Head of Marketing to build coordinated strategies that reach the right schools, generate qualified pipeline and convert market opportunity into revenue.
  • Bring clarity through data: establish the metrics, dashboards and operating rhythms required to understand performance, identify risk early and make better commercial decisions.
  • Build a forecast we can trust: create clear pipeline standards and forecasting discipline so the leadership team always understands what is likely to close, what is at risk and where intervention is required.
  • Build and develop an exceptional global team: hire brilliantly, set clear expectations, coach and develop our existing people, identify and address underperformance early, and make difficult people or structure decisions when required.
  • Make AI a competitive advantage: introduce practical AI-assisted workflows across prospecting, account research, call coaching, pipeline analysis, forecasting, communications and sales enablement.
  • Partner closely with the founders: work directly with Wellio’s founders on sales strategy, company planning, global expansion and the major commercial decisions shaping our future.

About You

  • You’ve led a national or global sales function before: you’ve owned a meaningful revenue number and led teams through a period of significant growth.
  • You know how to scale what is already working: you understand the people, systems, management layers and commercial discipline required to turn a successful growth-stage company into a genuinely global business.
  • You’ve created repeatable revenue: you can demonstrate how you’ve translated ambitious targets into a clear sales plan and built the team, pipeline and systems required to deliver it.
  • You’re an exceptional sales executive: you deeply understand the craft of selling, but can also operate strategically. You can quickly diagnose what is happening inside a sales organisation and know what needs to change.
  • You’re commercially strong: you understand pipeline, conversion, capacity, territories, quotas, compensation, sales cycles and the economics behind building a high-performing sales organisation.
  • You’re extremely data-driven: you don’t manage through gut feel alone. You know how to build reliable forecasts, identify risk early and use data to create focus and accountability.
  • You’re a systems builder: you can turn messy reality into clear, repeatable processes without creating unnecessary bureaucracy or slowing great people down.
  • You’re an exceptional people leader: you know how to lead managers as well as individual salespeople. You set high standards, give honest feedback, coach effectively and create clarity around what excellent performance looks like.
  • You’re strategic and hands-on: you’re equally comfortable setting a global sales strategy and getting close to the work, whether that means joining calls, inspecting pipeline, sharpening a deal, coaching in the moment or fixing a broken process when required.
  • You’re AI-fluent: you actively use AI to work smarter and can help a global sales team adopt AI-assisted workflows that improve insight, quality, productivity and speed.
  • You work brilliantly across functions: you build strong relationships with Marketing, Customer Success, Product and Finance because you understand that sustainable growth is a company-wide effort.
  • You thrive in a founder-led environment: you’re comfortable with ambition, speed, transparency and healthy debate. You bring deep expertise while remaining curious, practical and low-ego.
  • You care about the mission: you genuinely want to work on something that matters and are excited by the opportunity to improve the wellbeing of millions of young people.
  • You’re Melbourne-based: this role will be based in Melbourne, where you’ll regularly work alongside our team, build strong relationships and develop a deep understanding of our product and customers.
  • Don’t worry if you don’t tick every box: we’re more interested in exceptional people with the right trajectory, judgement and leadership ability than someone with a perfect CV.

Why You Should Work Here

  • Work on something that genuinely matters. Your work will directly influence the wellbeing education and support received by millions of students around the world.
  • Lead a truly global sales organisation. You’ll work with teams across Australia, the UK and Singapore while helping shape how Wellio expands into new markets around the world.
  • Join at an incredibly exciting stage. Wellio is on track for its fourth consecutive year of 100% growth. The product works, the market is growing and the foundations are in place, but there is still an enormous amount left to build.
  • Become a critical member of our leadership team. You won’t sit several layers away from the important decisions. You’ll work directly with the founders and have a genuine voice in the future of the company.
  • Build the sales organisation you’ve always wanted to lead. You’ll have the autonomy to shape the team, structure, systems and strategy required to take Wellio through its next stage of global growth.
  • Transparency. We share everything internally because high trust creates a great culture, and understanding the business helps people make better decisions.
  • We don’t take ourselves too seriously. We care enormously about our mission and hold exceptionally high standards, but we believe doing great work is easier when people can laugh, be themselves and enjoy the ride. Expect plenty of ambition and a healthy dose of weird.
  • Flexible, but culture-focused. Our team spans the globe, with bases in Melbourne, Sydney, London and Singapore. We give people flexibility while investing heavily in strong relationships and meaningful time together.
  • Biannual global team meetups. We bring our people together in places such as London and Asia to plan, create, connect and have a genuinely great time together. Our next global team conference is in Bangkok in mid-December, and our goal is to have our new Global Head of Sales there with us.

If you’re excited by the opportunity to build a truly global sales organisation, join one of Australia’s fastest-growing startups and work on one of the most important challenges facing young people today, we’d love to hear from you.

Please submit your CV and answer the two short application questions. Looking forward to learning more about you!
