In this global role, you will help identify and protect valuable innovations, technologies, brands, and business-critical developments in line with our strategy, technology roadmaps and portfolio priorities. The position is permanent and based in Nastola, Finland or at another agreed BFS location.

This is what you do

  • Support the implementation of the BFS intellectual property strategy by aligning technology roadmaps, portfolio priorities and protection activities together with R&D leadership, Product Management and Corporate IP.

  • Maintain transparency and governance of the global BFS intellectual property portfolio, including patents, patent applications, trademarks, design rights, portfolio reviews, KPI tracking and reporting.

  • Identify invention opportunities and facilitate invention workshops, innovation reviews and development checkpoints, while supporting invention disclosures, patent applications, trademark filings and design protection activities.

  • Assess portfolio strength, business relevance, value, costs, risks and protection gaps, and provide recommendations regarding filing, maintenance, licensing, consolidation or abandonment of intellectual property rights.

  • Coordinate intellectual property activities across EMEA, the Americas and APAC, and escalate competitive threats, freedom-to-operate concerns and portfolio risks to relevant stakeholders.

This is what you need

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Innovation or IP Management, Business Engineering, or a related field.

  • At least five years of relevant experience in R&D, Product, Innovation, Technology, or IP Management, including two years in an IP-related role.

  • Experience with invention disclosures, patent and trademark portfolios, innovation governance, and collaboration with internal and external IP partners.

  • Understanding of patents, trademarks, design protection, commercialisation, portfolio management, technology roadmaps, and innovation processes.

  • A strategic and business-oriented mindset, strong analytical and prioritisation skills, and the ability to translate innovation into relevant protection opportunities.

  • Strong stakeholder-management, influencing, facilitation, and communication skills in an international environment.

  • A structured and proactive working style, sound professional judgement, and a high level of confidentiality and integrity.

  • Fluent written and spoken English; additional languages are an advantage.

  • Willingness to travel globally as required.

This is what you get

  • A global role coordinating the BFS innovation protection pipeline and governance.

  • Collaboration across countries and functions with R&D, Product Management, Corporate IP, business stakeholders, and external specialists.

  • The opportunity to shape a strategic IP portfolio and strengthen innovation protection across BFS.

  • An international working environment where collaboration, ownership, continuous learning, and health and safety are valued.
