The anticipated salary range for this role is between $121,000.00 and $180,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.
Role Description
We are looking to hire a new Front Office Business Manager at the Vice President level for our Global Markets platform with a focus on the Systematic Trading Business. The successful hire will:
- Lead and oversee Front Office projects and strategic initiatives to drive change and implement business priorities as it relates to Systematic and Algorithmic Trading.
- Support Front Office management by producing management presentations detailing business performance and strategic initiatives
- Partner with business unit leadership to develop timely, accurate, and insightful analyses and metrics
- Provide insight into the core controls that are associated with Algorithmic trading and work with Business Control Office to put the appropriate framework in place to monitor the activity.
- Prepare materials to deliver business unit message to Front Office management and Sales and Trading Leadership supporting growth initiatives
- Design, enhance and continuously improve the operating framework and governance model for the Systematic Trading desk.
- Ensure scalability, robustness and alignment with business and regulatory expectation.
- Implement policies and procedures that govern the systematic trading framework and liaise with 2LOD to ensure agreement and oversight.
Role Objectives
- Lead work streams and contribute to projects that deliver front office efficiencies
- Prepare and deliver compelling and visually effective presentations
- Interact directly with traders, developers and Quants/Strats on initiatives and pipeline
- Analyze client and industry profitability and competitor analyses
Qualifications and Skills
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Business Administration or related fields
- Seven or more years of experience in financial services industry with direct business management support of High Frequency and Algorithmic trading in the front office
- Background in supporting regulations and controls for High Frequency/Algorithmic Trading.
- Has background on creating policies and procedures as direct support of this activity.
- Experience in data analysis, production of reporting materials, and strong presentation and PowerPoint skills
- Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively with all levels of risk, support, and business partners
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, along with ability to quickly learn new programs and applications
