Global Product & Program Manager - Industrial Controls & Connected Solutions

Position Summary
This role will lead the strategy, execution, and delivery of specific new product introductions (NPI), while also managing market-aligned business strategies, product lifecycle management, and global growth programs across assigned control, monitoring, sensing, software, and related product lines. The role translates customer, buyer, user, and market insights into portfolio strategies, differentiated product offerings, successful launches, and sustained product-line performance.

Reporting to the Director – Program Management, this role partners with Sales, Marketing, R&D, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Codes & Standards, and regional commercial teams to deliver revenue and EBITDA growth, quality, and customer value. Responsibilities span both individual product ownership and broader product-line activities, including industrial heat-tracing controls and accessories, control panels, sensors, software utilities, and connected solutions.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Product strategy, roadmaps, and portfolio leadership

Develop and maintain product strategies, technology plans, portfolio roadmaps, and lifecycle plans for assigned product lines.
Translate market, customer, and technology insights into portfolio priorities, business strategies, and investments that grow revenue, EBITDA, quality, and customer value.
Partner with R&D and cross-functional teams to ensure product development priorities, requirements, roadmaps, and investment decisions remain aligned with customer needs, technology trends, market trends, and integrated-solution opportunities.

Customer, market, and opportunity insight

Coordinate voice-of-customer, win/loss, persona, competitive, and primary/secondary research to understand workflows, buying drivers, user needs, and product-use patterns.
Synthesize field feedback, third-party data, and competitive intelligence into actionable insights that guide product plans, messaging, investment decisions, and continuous improvement.
Develop opportunity assessments, buy/build/partner recommendations, forecasts, financial models, and business cases.

Concept and product development

Lead cross-functional NPI teams through product definition, requirements, prioritization, development, pricing, validation, launch readiness, and post-launch optimization.
Guide prototyping, concept & beta testing, customer validation, pricing research, trade-off decisions, and stage-gate, Agile, waterfall, or rapid-iteration methods as appropriate.
Manage product specifications, product cost, quality, delivery, data integrity, and readiness for assigned products.

Product-line performance and lifecycle management

Manage assigned products as businesses within the business, tracking KPIs, sales, margin, P&L, ROI, quality, delivery, and customer outcomes.
Own and program-manage assigned new product introduction projects, ensuring products launch on time, on budget, at the required level of quality, in alignment with customer and business requirements.
In collaboration with Application Engineering and Operations, maintain enhancement priorities and lifecycle plans; drive cost reduction through VAVE activities; manage trade and tariff compliance; provide obsolescence and replacement recommendations; develop sunsetting plans; and maintain competitive positioning.
Ensure adherence to corporate product development, sustaining, and program management processes, while identifying improvements that increase speed, quality, and business outcomes.

Go-to-market execution, sales enablement, and training

Partner with Product Marketing and Marketing Communications to develop launch plans, value propositions, target audiences, positioning, messaging, and sales/channel enablement materials.
Support launch kits, catalogs, instruction sheets, competitive alerts, beta materials, technical papers, conferences, customer meetings, ROI/value tools, FAQs, battle cards, and training delivered in person or via web tools.

What You'll Bring

Bachelor's degree required; Engineering degree preferred in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, Controls, or a related technical discipline. Marketing, Business, Product Management, or technology degrees may be considered with relevant experience; MBA or an advanced degree is a plus.
Minimum of ten years of Product/Program Management, Product Marketing, portfolio management, or related experience in industrial automation, electrical/thermal solutions, controls, monitoring, sensing, software-enabled products, or engineered B2B products.
Technical knowledge of basic electricity and electronics, industrial instrumentation, communications and networking architectures, Ethernet, RS-485, Modbus, Modbus/TCP, and electronic product manufacturing processes.
Working knowledge of North American and international codes, standards, and certifications for control panel and instrumentation products in hazardous or demanding industrial environments preferred.
Proven ability to coordinate VOC and market research, synthesize qualitative and quantitative data, and translate insights into roadmaps, business cases, requirements, launch plans, and lifecycle decisions.
Strong financial acumen, including scenario modeling, sales forecasting, P&L interpretation, ROI analysis, and portfolio investment trade-offs.
Experience with stage-gate and Agile development, managing embedded hardware/firmware/software programs, release planning including prototyping, beta testing, and commercial launch, business intelligence tools, and prioritization methods.
Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, active listening, training, and influencing skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive accountability within a global, matrixed organization.
International mindset, fluency in English, customer focus, willingness to travel domestically and internationally, high integrity, bias for action, and commitment to outstanding results.
