Summary

GNC Software Engineer developing guidance, navigation, and control systems for robotics and autonomous platforms using ROS/ROS2, Python, C++, and MATLAB.

Salary: £55,000 - 55,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Experience in some or all of the following: ROS / ROS2
  • Experience in some or all of the following: Python and/or C++
  • Experience in some or all of the following: MATLAB
  • Experience in some or all of the following: Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC)
  • Experience in some or all of the following: robotics, autonomous systems or control systems
  • Experience in some or all of the following: sensor integration (LiDAR, IMU, cameras)
  • A Masters degree in Robotics, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Control Systems or a related discipline is preferred
  • Around two or more years commercial engineering experience
Responsibilities:
  • Develop Guidance, Navigation & Control algorithms for next-generation autonomous robotic systems
  • Design and implement intelligent navigation algorithms
  • Develop simulation models
  • Validate work through laboratory testing and real-world field trials
  • Work alongside experienced Systems, Software and Robotics Engineers
  • Support development from sensor integration through to on-board autonomy across the full development lifecycle

We are a growing engineering team developing software that enables autonomous rover platforms to navigate challenging environments. This is a hybrid role based in Stevenage, with three days onsite, offering a circa £50,000 salary and excellent benefits.
