【Going Cloud】Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role:
Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) at Going Cloud own the delivery and operation of our GenAI systems inside client environments. You'll work across several enterprise engagements, often on-site, taking each system from staging to production and keeping it healthy after launch. Expect restricted access, partial logs, and sometimes no direct internet.

What you'll do
- Own client environments and their mirrored staging environments, catching issues before they reach the client.
- Build client-side cloud infrastructure and delivery pipelines with infrastructure as code.
- Run releases through client processes, including change management, security reviews, and multi-environment promotion.
- Triage issues in systems you didn't build, pinpoint whether the cause is the application or the environment, and hand findings to developers.
- Turn vague requests from client IT into written delivery specs.
- Verify systems after launch and resolve production issues.
- Document runbooks and reusable deployment patterns, and share them with our engineering and product teams.

Requirements

What we're looking for :
- 3+ years of engineering experience, including production delivery in enterprise environments.
- Hands-on AWS experience across compute, networking, IAM, and managed databases.
- Infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience running containerized workloads in production (e.g., ECS, Kubernetes).
- Able to read and debug Python services; working SQL.
- Able to troubleshoot across cloud and on-premises networks.
- Working knowledge of how LLM applications behave in production: latency, guardrails, and output quality.
- Communicates clearly on-site: explains technical trade-offs to client IT and business teams, and proactively asks the right questions.
- Stays calm and effective in unfamiliar environments, and owns problems until they're resolved.
- Fluent Mandarin, including Traditional Chinese technical writing; working English.
- Willing to work on-site at client locations and support occasional off-hours releases.

Nice to have :
- Full-stack development experience (e.g., TypeScript, NestJS, React).
- Delivery experience in financial services or other regulated environments.
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools.
- Experience building LLM applications on cloud AI platforms (e.g., Amazon Bedrock).
- Prior FDE, professional services, or consulting experience.
