Golang Developer (no third parties please)

PeerSource is currently recruiting for multiple Golang Developers on a Contract basis. This role would ideally be hybrid in the Denver/Fort Collins, CO area, but open to fully remote from anywhere in the US. No third parties please!

Summary

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to design, develop, and enhance scalable applications with a strong emphasis on Golang backend development. This position will contribute across the software development lifecycle, including application architecture, API development, testing, production support, and technical improvements while collaborating with product, QA, and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable application features and backend services using Golang.
• Build and maintain REST APIs and integrate applications with relational databases and other services.
• Maintain and improve existing applications with an emphasis on performance, reliability, security, and maintainability.
• Write clean, well-tested code and develop automated unit and integration tests.
• Review pull requests, contribute technical feedback, and participate in application architecture and design discussions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application and production issues.
• Collaborate with developers, QA, product, and other cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Contribute to engineering standards, technical documentation, and development best practices while providing technical guidance to less experienced developers as appropriate.

Required Skills

• 2-5+ years of software development experience, at least 1 year of which in Golang / Go. We are open to both junior and senior-level skill sets.
• Strong experience developing backend services with Golang and designing and consuming REST APIs.
• Experience with MySQL or other relational databases, including database design and optimization.
• Experience with AWS cloud services, Git workflows, and automated unit and integration testing.
• Strong understanding of software design patterns, clean architecture principles, application scalability, and Agile/Scrum development practices.
• Front-end development experience with React is highly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with Node.js, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, microservices architecture, Kubernetes/container orchestration, and monitoring, logging, or observability tools is preferred.
