Golang Technical Lead
Summary
Leads a team to design, build, and scale Golang-based microservices for a retail/e-commerce platform, using cloud-native tools and observability stacks.
Mandatory Skills
- Experience in Retail or E-commerce domain.
- Strong hands‑on experience with Golang for scalable microservices.
- Experience with REST and gRPC APIs.
- Strong understanding of goroutines, channels, and concurrency patterns.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Performance tuning and observability using Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog.
- Cloud‑native development and containerization experience.
Project Tech Stack
- Backend: Golang, REST, gRPC
- Cloud: Azure (primary), GCP, AWS
- Databases: PostgreSQL, Spanner, Bigtable, Cassandra
- Caching & Messaging: Redis, Kafka, Pub/Sub
- Containers & Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm
- CI/CD & DevOps: GitLab CI, Jenkins, Terraform
- Monitoring: Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Architecture
- Design and architect scalable Golang‑based microservices.
- Define coding standards and best practices for Go development.
- Evaluate and select Go frameworks, libraries, and tools.
- Conduct design and code reviews.
- Champion security, quality, and DevOps/SRE practices.
Hands‑On Development & Execution
- Develop backend services and APIs using Golang.
- Build event‑driven and asynchronous systems.
- Deploy containerized applications on cloud platforms.
- Collaborate with product and architecture teams.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Mentor engineers on Go best practices and system design.
- Act as technical anchor for the team.
- Partner with engineering managers on planning and delivery.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience Required
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of overall software development experience.
- 5+ years of hands‑on Golang experience.
- 2+ years in technical leadership roles.
- Strong experience with distributed systems and cloud platforms.
