Job Summary

The Golf Course Maintenance Laborer is responsible for maintaining the appearance, playability, and safety of the golf course and surrounding grounds. This position performs a variety of manual labor and equipment based tasks to ensure the course meets high standards for members and guests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Mow greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and other turf areas
  • Rake bunkers and maintain sand traps
  • Perform trimming, edging, and blowing of turf and landscaped areas
  • Hand watering
  • Remove debris, leaves, and litter from the course and practice areas
  • Assist with landscaping projects, including planting, mulching, and tree care
  • Operate and maintain maintenance equipment and tools safely
  • Report equipment issues, safety hazards, or turf problems to supervisors
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and environmental regulations

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous golf course or grounds maintenance experience is a plus, but not required
  • Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions
  • Ability to perform strenuous physical labor
  • Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required

  • Basic understanding of turf maintenance practices (training provided)
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and pride in work quality
  • Strong work ethic and dependable attendance

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Outdoor work environment with exposure to heat, cold, rain, and humidity
  • Frequent walking, bending, lifting, and use of hand tools and machinery
