Golf Marshal
Summary
Oversee golf course operations, enforce rules, ensure pace-of-play, and assist players while managing safety and course maintenance.
1. Course Monitoring & Player Support
• Greet players at the first tee and deliver a clear and professional starter speech outlining local rules, daily conditions, and pace-of-play expectations.
• Maintain accurate starter sheets and tee time records.
• Actively patrol the golf course to ensure players adhere to etiquette, rules, and pace-of-play guidelines.
• Offer on-course assistance to guests and members, ensuring their needs are addressed professionally and promptly.
• Apply strong interpersonal skills to enforce regulations diplomatically and resolve on-course issues when necessary.
2. Safety & Emergency Response
• Monitor weather conditions and initiate lightning protocols and evacuation procedures when necessary.
• Act as the first responder to on-course emergencies and safety-related incidents.
• Promptly report pace-of-play delays, guest misconduct, and safety concerns to supervisors.
• Maintain documentation and records of disciplinary actions or notable player incidents.
3. Course Maintenance & Presentation
• Perform light course upkeep including ball mark repair, divot filling, replacement of hazard markers, restocking sand bottles, and collecting litter.
• Monitor and maintain the condition and presentation of key areas such as tee boxes and rest areas.
4. Buggy Management
• Oversee the availability, servicing, and cleanliness of all golf buggies.
• Ensure proper rotation and upkeep of buggies for guest and member usage.
5. Communication & Coordination
• Serve as Duty Master a minimum of twice a week, overseeing course operations during assigned shifts.
• Maintain clear and continuous communication with Club Concierge, Golf Shop, and the Golf Operations team.
Support team coordination to manage daily play and special events efficiently.
