Job Summary: Under the supervision of the General Manager, the Golf Customer Service Representative is responsible for selling pro shop items, collecting fees, and registering golfers.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Actively support the agency's risk management protocol that will effectively control and reduce accidents

  • Promptly report all unsafe actions, practices, or conditions to the immediate supervisor

  • Obey the practical safety rules, regulations, and procedures established by the Safety Committee, and attend and participate in required safety training.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned, based on agency needs

  • Answer telephone, record incoming calls, and take starting time reservations

  • Register players and assign them their tee time, making sure all golfers check-in

  • Collect all money for green fees, programs, rental, and pro shop sales. Issue receipts for all transactions

  • Maintain general order and cleanliness in the pro shop

  • Maintain daily records and reports

  • Remain courteous with patrons at all times

  • Perform all job tasks within the rules and guidelines of the Park District safety program

  • Convey information about the Wilmette Golf Course programs to the public

  • Develop positive relationships with participants and patrons

  • Attend staff meetings as scheduled

  • Work collaboratively with other staff as needed

  • Actively contribute to the Park District's sustainability goals

Safety Responsibilities:

  • Actively support the safety program that will effectively control and reduce accidents

  • Obey all Park District and departmental safety rules, regulations, and procedures established by the Wilmette Park District safety program

  • Promptly report all unsafe actions, practices, or conditions to the immediate supervisor

  • Attend and participate in required safety training

Required Skills/Abilities (Technology, Mathematical, Language):

  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions

  • Knowledge of golf terms, rules, and equipment required

  • Golf experience preferred

  • Understand the fundamentals of golf

  • Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

  • Ability to take initiative and use good judgment in responding to situations that arise

  • Ability to take direction and adapt to the work environment

Education and/or Experience:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods, stoop, bend, and kneel

  • May spend time indoors, in a controlled environment, and outdoors in an uncontrolled environment

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

  • Exposure to cleaning and disinfecting supplies
