Role Overview
This contract position supports the banks programme, responsible for the
end-to-end quality assurance, testing, and production release of Google Cloud
Platform components within a hybrid cloud environment. The consultant will own the High Level
Design Document (HLDD), drive governance approvals, and support platform
readiness through Permit to Operate stages to General Availability.
Role Overview
Embedded within the banks programme team, the consultant will
collaborate with platform engineers, enterprise architects, and security/risk
stakeholders to deliver formal architecture artefacts and navigate governance
and production approval processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end production
of the Atlas 2.0 GCP HLDD, covering network topology, landing zone
architecture, IAM, data platform services, compute, security controls, and
operational tooling.
- Contribute to platform
architecture design decisions and maintain the Architecture Design
Register.
- Prepare structured
submission packs for Architecture Review Boards and Design Authority
forums.
- Own the design workstream
across all Permit to Operate gates, ensuring documentation completeness
and approval.
- Hand over approved
documentation and artefacts to operations at General Availability.
- Deliver key artefacts
including HLDD, governance and PTO evidence packs, design diagrams, and GA
readiness reports.
Required Skills & Experience
- Deep expertise in Google
Cloud Platform architecture and design.
- Proven experience in
complex, regulated environments with cloud-native infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of network
topology, IAM, security controls, and operational tooling on GCP.
- Experience producing formal
architecture documentation and navigating governance processes.
- Excellent stakeholder
management and communication skills.
