Gospel Service Lead Musician

Position

Ladgov Corporation is seeking a Gospel Service Lead Musician to provide instrumental and accompaniment support for the Protestant Gospel worship program at Keesler Air Force Base. The musician will support weekly rehearsals, Sunday worship services, congregational singing, choir selections, and approved special programs.

Main Duties

• Provide instrumental and accompaniment music for rehearsals and worship services.
• Support congregational and choir selections.
• Perform gospel, contemporary, and traditional worship music.
• Coordinate music selections with the Gospel Music Director and Gospel Service Chaplain.
• Support special chapel programs when required.
• Remain present for the entire rehearsal and worship service.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Protestant church or chapel music experience.
• Must proficiently play at least one musical instrument suitable for gospel/contemporary worship.
• Ability to play piano, drums, guitar, bass guitar, or similar instruments is preferred.
• Must be able to read sheet music and accompany gospel, contemporary, and traditional worship styles.
• Must currently attend or be an active member of a Protestant church or chapel.
• Must be able to provide a letter of endorsement from a current pastor or chaplain.
• Must communicate effectively in English and work professionally with minimal supervision.

Schedule

• 1 rehearsal per week
• 1 Sunday Gospel worship service per week
• Rehearsal is a minimum of 1 hour
• Must arrive at least 30 minutes before both the rehearsal and Sunday service
• Must remain for the entire rehearsal and service
• Additional rehearsals/services may occasionally be required for special programs
