Governance & Citizen Engagement Specialists
Nickol Global Solutions (NGS) seeks short-term and long-term Governance and Citizen Engagement Specialists to provide technical expertise to upcoming donor-funded activities. This is an ongoing need and specific positions are contingent upon award. These mid- and senior-level Governance and Citizen Engagement Specialists may provide services related to technical assistance, assessments, analysis, planning, evaluation, and capacity building.
Duties
- Supports activities related to good governance and citizen engagement, including transparency and accountability efforts; local governance/decentralization; anti-corruption; public service delivery; participatory planning and budgeting; and citizen advocacy.
- Leads and contributes to governance-related assessments and studies, including Political Economy Analyses (PEAs), stakeholder mapping, sector assessments, and research or analytical studies.
- Serves as a thought leader in the field of democracy, human rights, and governance (DRG) by authoring publications (both online and print), speaking at relevant DRG-related events, and actively participating in DRG communities of practice.
- Supports and leads the development of governance and citizen engagement tools and methodologies, particularly focused on inclusive development.
- Participates in and, as required, leads scoping trips, proposal design meetings, recruitment of partners, responses to donor questions, and presentations to donors.
- Serves as a technical writer for governance-focused proposals.
- Forges strategic partnerships for new project opportunities.
- Works with MEL Specialist(s) to develop and implement MEL systems that reflect adaptive management appropriate for local dynamics.
