Governance, Risk and Control Assurance Senior Analyst

We're looking for a Governance, Risk and Controls Assurance Senior Analyst to join our Institutional Retirement COO team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in strengthening the control environment through first-line assurance activity, helping to assess the effectiveness of controls, identify areas for improvement and support better risk management across the business.

Working with a wide range of stakeholders, you'll contribute to assurance planning, control testing, governance reporting and continuous improvement initiatives, helping to ensure robust governance practices and good customer outcomes.

    What you'll be doing:

    • Supporting the delivery of first-line assurance activities, including control testing, evidence reviews and analysis of control effectiveness
    • Contributing to assurance planning by reviewing risk assessments, incidents, issues, audit findings and other risk indicators
    • Applying assurance methodologies and standards consistently across testing activities and reviews
    • Planning, executing and documenting control testing engagements, clearly defining scope, evidence and conclusions
    • Using data, analytical techniques and technology-enabled tools to improve the efficiency and coverage of assurance activity
    • Identifying themes, trends and potential control weaknesses and escalating findings where appropriate
    • Producing management information, assurance reports and governance materials to support oversight and remediation tracking
    • Building collaborative relationships with stakeholders while providing constructive challenge and evidence-based assurance conclusions

    Who we're looking for:

    • Experience in assurance, audit, compliance monitoring, controls testing or risk management activities
    • Understanding of control frameworks and their application within financial services environments
    • Knowledge of assurance testing methodologies, including evidence assessment and findings documentation
    • Ability to analyse data and identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement
    • Experience supporting issue management, remediation tracking and governance reporting
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders effectively
    • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
    • A proactive and curious mindset with an interest in improving processes, controls and assurance outcomes
